80/200 f4? I did not know such a lens exists.
The original 1974 Vario-Elmar-R 80-200 f4.5 was one if the three early
R lenses (the other two being the 24/2.8 and 16/2.8 fisheye)
incompatible with the Leicaflex and SL. The mirror assembly is
slightly different in the SL2 et seq.

Is this the lens to which you refer?
The later 75-200/4.5 and 70-210/4 lenses should woork on an SL.
