Subject: Re: [Leica] Off-Topic: Airport X-ray Machines

Last week, travelling thru Heathrow, sign on airport xray machine read:
"ALL ITEMS WILL BE XRAYED!! Beneath that sign was an explanatory paragraph
which stated that these machines have been proven not to cause any problems
with film.

The 22 rolls I shot were all either ASA200(Ektachrome) or ASA50(Fuji) and I
found no problems with the final images. There were two rolls of 1600 in the
bag which I have not exposed yet.

In D/FW and Chicago, as well as Milan, I was able to separately pass thru my
film in a clear plastic baggie with no questions asked and no insistence on
xraying them.

I guess all locations are different. I haven't been to Lagos yet, tho'.
