Leica AG of Switzerland was reported in Tuesdays NY Times as having sold its 
microscope production division ( German based Leica Microsystems GMBH. Annual 
sales of 472 million USD) for USD 500 million to Schroders Ventures of Frankfurt and 
London. This division holds a 30% market share in semiconductor optical inspection 
and review systems and may not comprise the entire microscope operation at Leica.
