Subject: [Leica] Peace and reconciliation developments (probably off-topic)

Hi fellow LUGnuts.

Bearing in mind the atmosphere of goodwill and mutual understanding lacking
in certain current threads on the LUG, I thought you might like to know
that on this little island of Ireland we have just taken the first steps to
real peace in Northern Ireland for 70 years.

Politicians of all persuasions have finally signed up to a deal this
afternoon which should do much to persuade ordinary people on all sides to
consider very carefully whether reconciliation is a better option than the
sorry history of sectarian warfare in the North which has prevailed up to
now - with many innocent casualties on both sides.

My wife and I are cracking open a bottle of champagne tonight to celebrate
this first step towards lasting peace. As she's Irish and I'm English, you
can see that we practise what we preach.

Just my two pennies' worth.

Slan

Alex
