True, a little something good is better than nothing at all, but I am
spoiled, alas.
There was a showing of some of Adams' work at the High Point Museum last
year, and even the double printed photos in the large coffe tqable books
could not compete with the quality of a well made photo, right in front of
your eyes in all of its glory. I do landscapes and they look puny and
insignificant when compared to Adams' photos. To be there and see the
luminosity, shadow detail and exquisite texture just blows any form of
second generation reproduction away. Personally, I was humbled. Even though
Adams is not my favourite photographer, artist or whatever, I am still in
awe of the mood and sensitivity conveyed in his work.
Oh, yes- erotic would be a better word, as you point out, but then again,  I
love "pitchers of nekkid wimmen" and have never read Playboy for the
articles! <G> ( That is, as we'uns say down South- Grinnin' like a 'possum!)
