Tom-
On the same trip we took to the Boundary Waters we also took our kayaks up
to Voyager National Park - unfortunately the wind kicked up very high just
as we were paddling away from the Park entrance and Mary talked me into
cancelling that part of our trip. The little I saw would not make me go
back. Another option if you do the drive around Superior is to stop at the
Grand Portage National Monument, check that out and then take a tour boat
ride over to Isle Royale National Park. Beautiful boat ride and you may get
Leica photos of an Indian spirit tree that grows out of a rock by the Lake.
Forbidden to approach it by land unless you have an Indian shaman escort.
By all means get the 75mm before you leave and also the 21 asph if you do
not already have it. Must have for all those scenics, I am sure your wife
is understanding.
