It's working pretty fine on an M3. Though the adjustment of 
distance is more easy (and precise) resulting from the M3's
slightly larger RF base, you miss the M6's exposure control 
specially under (very) low light conditions, where half an
f-stop may decide on color rendition (i.e. in dark or
shadow areas). Additional plus: the M3's more soft release 
button mechanism helps to hold the camera sufficiently steady 
even at 1/4 or 1/2 sec (with a little training). The same is
valid for the M2.
