I - for myself - explained it with the intro of the M6-0.85.
Both events happened parallel (2 weeks difference). 

Further, I wouldn't count on a new or different M body for 
the next 10, 12 years; maybe some improvement in quality
control, but no new M:  The M6-0.85 area, which is accompanied 
by the 75 mm transfer to Germany and the intro of the APO 2/90, 
has just begun. 

Depending on the 75 and 90 mm selling cyphers, both M bodies 
will either run parallel for a limited period, like the M2 and 
M3, or Solms might stop the M6 to push the 75 and 90 selling. 

Additionally, I guess, Solms next efforts will concentrate
on the R series and it's lenses, or even on a P&S CD toy to 
participate from the big cake.
