Are you suggesting that the value of an M6 will be dramatically lowered if
the red dot is damaged or stolen?  Is it true, as many seem to believe,
that there are gangs of "red dot thieves" running amok in the cities of the
World, mugging Leica owners to deprive their cameras of these cherished red
dots?  And, if you ARE mugged and your red dot is stolen, can't you simply
buy a new one for a mere pittance from Leica?

I did have a VW hood emblem stolen off my last Beetle (a '61 ragtop) by
some gang member once, but that just entailed a visit to my junk shed for
another.  Mayhaps I should stock up in advance with a supply of red dots to
have on hand for the day when I, too, become a Victim of Crime and find my
red dot stolen!
