I am looking for a good user 21mm lens, and already have checked Erwin
Puts comparison of the different lenses (SA f/4, SA f/3,4, Elmarit and the
newest ASPH). However, the SA f/3,4 seems to be overpriced on the market
for "collector's reasons". As the very new ASPH version is also too expensive
for my budget, I am planning to go for a non-ASPH Elmarit f/2.8. With Tom's
post, I wondered how to distinguish the different versions of that lens? How
many do exist? Which is the one to avoid ("flat front element"?)? In Laney's
book, only two versions are shown, but I know the book is incomplete in some
details.
