Cart before the horse.  There was a documentary by the BBC not so long ag=
o
on TV about present day attitudes in Japan.  They interviewed the old and
the young.  The results were interesting in that the old did not accept
that WW II was over and that the fight was still being fought on the
economic front with the aim of destroying the industrial base of the
"West".   The young mostly did not accept that the Japanese Military was
defeated because the Americans dropped a nuclear device on a civilian
target and therefore the Military was undefeated.  The underlying shame o=
f
a proud nation was came through clearly.  For some WW II is not over.
