  Actually I do hang out on the EOS list.  My personal impression is 
that there are hardly any - compared to the LUG discussions - genuine 
manufacturing defect complaints.  Almost always the 'problem' is 
instead that the settings and their interactions are so complicated 
that bad photography results !  These protracted LUG quality control 
harangues are worrisome, in contrast, but perhaps the bugs are 
an acceptable, even desirable to some, hallmark of a luxury product 
with more handwork than consumer grade products.
