The 35-70 f/3.5 is made in Solms, Germany, along with the 70-180 f/2.8 
and 105-280 f/4.2. The other two zooms, the 35-70 f/4.0 and 28-70 
f/3.5-4.5 are made in Japan (information stemms from the last issue of 
Leica World, number 1/98. I just got this issue some weeks ago).
