I just really don't understand all of these "Camera is too thick" =
statements.  The fellow I work with has an F5 and I got curious Friday =
and compared the two and if there was a difference in the thickness on =
the right hand side the R8 was thinner by a very small margin.  So why =
does everyone keep saying the blasted thing is so much thicker than the =
F5?????

The main difference was that where the F5 grip drops straight back into =
the body the R8's grip slopes back in to the body.  I don't see how this =
matters, but then again I just use the right hand to steady the camera =
and do most of the weight support with the left hand.  As long as there =
is enough to hold onto on the right side I am happy.

This is not a big deal, IMHO, but each person buys a camera for his/her =
own reasons.
My advice is to quit looking at the camera and start shooting with it.  =
It is rather hard to get a decent photo if all you are doing is sitting =
around mooning over how pretty (or ugly depending on your tastes) your =
new toy is.
