Zeiss had destroyed their service facilities and parts, and simultaneously
refused to give uo on mechanical mechanisms, instead of going electronic.
e.g. Leica M5 went to M6, Leica SL-2 went the way of mechanical and became
the R3 & 4.

The Contarex was a mechanical/Rube Goldberg masterpiece, but instantly
obsoleted in tehe mid-70's, same as "adding machines", "Gestetners" for
duplicatins, etc. So did hundreds of dealers who leased them.
