Lucien,

This change was just to a filter size of E46 and built in hood.  The optical
formula on this lens hasn't changed since 1961.  The first Summilux design of
1959 is merely an  updated Summarit 1.5 (1949-1960), which is itself a coated
version of the Xenon which dates back to 1936.  To say this design is long in
the tooth is an understatement.
Leica probably will change this lens to the R lens optical formula, just as
they did with the 90/2.8 Elmarit.
