Subject: [Leica] Wall Street Camera

>>I plan on buying a 50 summicron, maybe a 35 rf, in the near future, I had
planned to go to wall street camera, what was your experience with them and
did you go to the store or order mailorder?>>

I had looked into the store years ago and found it cluttered and not
conducive to doing business. Recently, because they advertised a lot of
Contax stuff that I was interested in, I decided to give them another try.
Although the store is still cluttered <g>, I found that the staff is
extremely friendly and helpful, and quite willing to BS about cameras,
photography, and anything else. As an example, they were sure they had a
Contax 35 1.4 around somewhere, and it couldn't be found. So they invited
me behind the counter to have a look!

They also have treated me very fairly on trade-ins.

Eli seems to be the resident German camera specialist; supposedly he is
friends with one of the Leica USA bigwigs, and so gets interesting deals on
stuff. And I must say, they tried to get me to buy a chrome 90/2 Sumicron,
and I was told I could get a great deal on it. In fact, the price was $100
under B&H. I couldn't really afford it after the M6, and so had to pass.

Regards,

Denton Taylor
