The accuracy of the Leica R8 shutter is 100% at all speeds, and even
better than the Nikon F5 (deviation from 1/1000 on: +0.05 IL at 1/1000,
+0,1 IL at 1/2000, +0.2 IL at 1/4000 and +0.4 IL at 1/8000). Shutter
consistency (10 successive shots at 1/1000) is 100% for both cameras. So
it appears the R8 has a truly outstanding shutter.

Exposure accuracy (for A, S and P modes) and exposure consistency (10
successive shots in P or A mode) is 100% both for Leica R8 and Nikon F5.
But, while the F5 is dead on "0 IL", the R8 gives a consistent "-0.3 IL".
This different calibration is intended by Leica and serves amateurs of
slides very well (more saturated colors).

Info gathered from CDI test reports.
Happy shooting,

Pascal
