A Beemer is what those who haven't got one call a nice piece of Teutonic
machinery by the name of BMW.

BMW stands for 'Bayerische Motoren Werke' (approximate German), which being
translated is 'Bavarian Motor Works' as they're put together down in Munich.

I'm now on my fifth one, and have never (touch wood) had a breakdown in any
of them, which is more than I can say for my Leicas (to keep on topic).
