I am > new to BW, since I always shoot models in color. Agfa APX-25 is remarkable, although often limited in application because of its slowness. But with a Noctilux... Thing is, grain isn't necessarily as much of a problem as you might think. I keep coming back to good ol' Tri-X, because the tonal values seem so `right'. I tend to shoot it at EI 200; it survives overexposure far better than underexposure. A versatile choice (grain similar to Tri-X, but a speed edge) is TMZ at EI 800. If you find yourself in serious dimness, you can choose to shoot rolls at 1600 or 3200 as necessary. -Jeff Moore <jbm@instinet.com>
