Subject: [Leica] Leica R focusing screens..

I just read in B. Bowers book on the Leica R cameras that the focusing screens
for the R4 are not as bright as the later (R4SP, R5,6,7)screens.  Is this true?
 I have not read about this difference anywhere else.  Are the newer screens
quite an improvement?  Anybody know about this...
