Subject: [Leica] Leica & Quality Control....

...well, once again, the evil diety of leica quality control
has reared it's ugly head....this time with a leica accessory !

...today i spent about three and a half hours going through a variety
of abrahamson soft releases for my M6 at KSP. inconsistent anodizing
hues, variations on nipple circumfrence, non symmetric polishing,
failures in proper color coordination and those are just a few of
the faults !

luckily i had brought along my micrometer and 15X loupe so that
i could examine each release in detail. it took me some time before
i could find a defect free soft release !

then Jeff Alford had the gall to charge me over $10 for the release !
and this *despite* my having gone through his entire stock of releases,
inspecting each in turn, attempting to find even ONE that met the
high standards of craftsmanship i require of my leica equipment.

for those of you in the bay area, Jeff has a very few soft releases
in 9+ condition, several in what i would be generous in describing as
7- condition, and only one other release in 10++ condition available.

consider yourselves warned !
