Greetings LUG:

I wholeheartedly support your idea, as I am passionately interested in
photography with a Leica. That is why I subscribed to this group only a
few days ago. While I'm not that interested in equipment details, I
still find that the group of Leicaphiles you describe is basically
already here!

I'm an amateur street and candid photographer who lives in Anchorage,
Alaska with an M6 with the 21,28,35,50,75(broken),90,135 lenses (mostly
I use the 21/35/50 combinations because, well, I don't know why except I
love them dearly). I also shoot slide film with an R6 and
50/135/180/250 but I have very little experience with it yet. With my
M, I shoot mostly Tri-X and soup it in T-Max. I'm not interested in
adjusting my developement or breaking from my processing routine because
I'm satisfied with how I do it (for now). I'm concerned primarily with
creating photographic art with the world's finest instrument for doing
that.
Sometimes I just get stumped about what to take pictures of and where to
take them. What gets you in the mood? Where do you street
photographers go to get your shots? How do you lurk? What is your
thought process when you're on a crowded sidewalk and see some
interesting photogenic people coming your way? I want to get a black
camera so I don't have to use electrical tape on my chrome model! :)

I will travel to Paris for the entire month of October, and I expect
I'll come back with some interesting notes for you! (now I just need to
figure out how to prepare!)
