Subject: [Leica] Aesthetic qualities of photographs
From: "Martin V. Howard" <marho@ida.liu.se>

Something strange just occurred to me today, as I was looking at Robert
Stevens's photographs on the web (the cigar smoking woman and the two
young girls in a chair): When I see photographs that (to me) convey a
mood or emotion, rather than just depict a subject, I hear music in my
mind, influenced by the mood conveyed by the picture.

Does anyone else get such cross-influencing of sensory impression, or
do I just need to see a shrink? ;-)

(Hmm, new slogan for our favorite camera manufacturer: "Leica makes
music in your mind" for those of us who remember the Fanta commercials
of a decade ago ;-)
