Buy the Hewes reels. I have Hewes reels and Kindermann tanks in both 35mm and 120, and will never go back to plastic. I have never had a misfeed with this gear, more than I can say for plastic. And I've dropped the reels a time or two: they bounce, but stay aligned, unlike the cheap reels, which are permanently damaged. You have to ask for these things, as the clerks at your camera store won't volunteer the information as "they cost more, so no one will want to buy them".
