Subject: [Leica] Ask For It By Name

Those having difficulty loading metal reels are having this difficulty
because they are using junk reels, the sort your village camera store sells
you "so you will keep coming back", a mentality which escapes me.

Buy the Hewes reels. I have Hewes reels and Kindermann tanks in both 35mm
and 120, and will never go back to plastic. I have never had a misfeed
with this gear, more than I can say for plastic. And I've dropped the
reels a time or two: they bounce, but stay aligned, unlike the cheap
reels, which are permanently damaged.

You have to ask for these things, as the clerks at your camera store won't
volunteer the information as "they cost more, so no one will want to buy
them". ASK for Kindermann, ask for Hewes, and you are in good hands. As
the old radio ads used to say, "ask for it by name".
