I can't speak for the list, but I pickup R4 mint with blank cards in 1990, it's shutter did go
bad after 6 months heavy use (35 - 40 rolls 36x per week w/motor) took Leitz 2 months to get
parts and replace shutter. It work fine since!. I have no idea what it would have cost me without
passport service. I would think if by now a pre-owned R3/4 or 5? ( I thought R4s/P, and R5 had
all the bugs rung out) haven't failed it should work okay depending on use. But I could be wrong
;-)

The above mentioned R has since been stolen, I would replace with a R4sP or later if cost is an
issue, else risk a possible hefty repair bill on R3 or 4. As I once understood it, Leica
basically rebuild the machine, so perhaps it's worth the price.
