Subject: [Leica] Re: Leicas are not expensive, dollars are worthless

Leicas are not expensive - the dollar is cheap. I got my first new Leica
(IIIC) for high school graduation in 1950. It had a Elmar 3.5 50mm and the
total cost I believe was $183.00. I bought a new M-4 with F 2.0 for $195 in
about 1968. When a dollar is cheap you can not buy much - hence the price of
Leicas is greater than $1500.

I print on the front of my checks " These funds were generated from private
enterprise despite governments flagrant inflation of national money supply,
bureaucratic hostility and irresponsible controls." And that is why it takes
so many dollars to purchase a Leica. (0r anything else)
