Subject: [Leica] Never ending quest for the perfect bag for Leica gear

Good morning, LUG:

The recent Fogg/Billingham/Lowe dialogue brings to mind a recent [potential]
gear bag discovery in the 1998 Handbook of the Leica System. I didn't
anticipate finding the "perfect bag" in the Handbook, this looks like an
exceptional gear container/protector. On page 1-51 of the handbook is
described a new bag called the Leica "Outdoor". This is a different bag
than the leather-trimmed olive or black "New Generation" bags. It is all
black and made primarily of ballistic nylon. It looks quite sturdy and low
key in the pictures provided.

No red dots to tape over! /8-)

I'm an R user, and if cleverly arranged, the internal dimensions of the
larger bag [they come in two sizes] are 30cmW x 23cmH x 15cm D, and offer
room to store plenty of gear. I am curious to learn if any LUGgers are
using this bag, or have seen it and knows about it, as my search for the
perfect bag continues...

Meanwhile, I have taken the plunge and ordered one, and will let you know.
Perhaps other "perfect bag" seekers should include this one in their search.

Enjoy the light.
