I don't know if it was just the particular specimen, but I remember
clearly having tested one belonging to a colleague shortly after it was
introduced, and both he and I found the performance abominable compared
to any 50mm lens either of us had ever shot up until that point.  If it
were my decision I would search for a previous-generation Noctilux,
decent-condition (optically at least) samples of which I've seen for
slightly more than the price you have quoted.  My general opinion from
having looked over Ken-Mar's ad in the past (based on items whose values
I am familiar with) is that they are frequently vastly overpriced.  An
example: the November issue lists a Visoflex II (*not* a III) with the
eyelevel finder for $249, which is about $150 more than I've seen it in
other places.
