I think you'll probably be happy with Fuji 1600 and/or TMAX 3200.  If you develop your own film, you might want to try Ilford HP5+ pushed in Microphen at speeds up to 3200ASA.

At least, those are my preferences.  I've heard that Delta 400/Microphen works well to 1000-1600ASA.
