I was told by a leica rep that all the R4 bodies with a SN engraved on the
base instead of on the rear edge of the base had had problems or will have
problems.
My advise is : not to buy a R4 but a R4s-2 (or -P).The R4s-2 has a
reliable simplified electronics and a reliable new switch-over (from spot
to integral metering)selector.
