I too join others in wishing our American friends a happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy
your turkey, pie and football games...And spare a thought for those who
actually cook the turkey. Our last Thanksgiving in the U.S., in Nov. 94, we
decided that for once we would have it at our own place (normally we would
visit my family in Florida). So we bought a nice turkey and the other
ingredients. On Thursday morning, my wife and I took the bird out of the
freezer, looked at it for a while, and then phoned her relatives on the Jersey
shore (we lived near Princeton, NJ), invited ourselves for Thanksgiving dinner
and donated our own turkey to the Salvation Army in Trenton.
