All three versions are optically identical.  The first version had a
clip on lens hood, but after about a year or so of production was
modified to have a builtin hood.  About a year ago, production of the
lens was moved to Germany, accopmpanied with a mechanical modification
that reduced the weight of the lens by 40 grams.
