Simply a phenomenal lens. One of the best wide angles (not just ultra-wide)
made by Leica, M or R.

Wide open, there is a bit of fall-off in the corners, but it's not
significant. And it's only noticeable with even backgrounds. Easily fixed
in scanning or printing, or just stop down a stop or two. Even closeup it's
performance is superb. It's image quality is extremely sharp and contrasty,
but never harsh. Its rendition of the scene, and color is great.

This is a lens to recommend to anyone without reservation in any case. You
really have to nit-pick to criticize it. You can't use filters on it, but
it has built-in filters, and there's a company that can make custom filters
that Leica will retrofit in if you don't like the selection that comes with
the lens.
