Perhaps one of the problems facing Leica today is that they have had to
succumb to the pressures of economics and switch from a "quality at any
cost" philosophy to one (pioneered by the Japanese) which favours maximum
profitability whilst still retaining quality where it counts.  Leica
seems to have been having trouble assimilating this into practise since
the days of the M4-2.
