Subject: [Leica] The Noctilux can be dangerous

A few months ago, I was giving a slide show. The bulb in my projector went
out and I didn't have a spare. I took my Noctilux and laid it in the bulb
chamber (after removing the bad bulb), with the base of the lens pointing
toward the slide. I have a tiny pen-lite that I use to find thing around
the projector during the show. I shined this little pen-lite into the front
of the Noctilux (diaphragm set to f/1.0) and the slide show continued.
There was so much light coming out of the Noctilux back-end, I may never
replace the projector bulb. The slides were bright and crisp, and had that
special Noctilux glow.

So, you folks contemplating buying a Noctilux, remember you can also use it
for night surveillance with the Leica Telescope Ocular #14243. But be
careful. Do not point it at a street light or well lighted window. You'll
lose a retina. A car headlight... will drill a hole right through your head!
