Subject: [Leica] M6TTL and Metz SCA 3501 shoe

I have been having a great deal of difficulty in removing the Metz 
SCA3501 hot shoe from my M6TTL. The hot shoe has small spring loaded 
contacts that engage the M6's contacts and they bind the shoe to the 
camera so that it takes considerable force to remove the shoe.  I'm 
worried that I'm going to damage the M6.  Anyone have any suggestions?
