Me too, (ugh), but the Eugene Smith essay you wrote about was
journalistic.  My question was whether he (for instance) could have
done a better job with modern equipment or whether his technique was
more suited for what was available then.  Or even whether a modern
photographer with digital reconstruction could have equalled or
surpassed him. 

Understand please that I am not aiming at any particular guy.
