If you have the V35, the 40mm f2.8 focotar is a wonderful wonderful lens.
When you have the system set up right and have a good level easel, it is
marvelous at f5.6.  Stopping down to f8 only increases depth of field.  I
would not have any other lens on mine.  Leica did offer a retrofit service
for a 50mm enlarging lens.   But what I am sure stop people is shipping the
beast out for repair.  But then you can't make 16X20 prints.   I have used
many many different enlarging lenses and only a few lenses, have come close
to the Leica Focotar 40mm f2.8, that is the 50mm f4.5 focotar and the 50mm
APO Rodagon.
