I always found it pretentious to use filters because of a name.  For
example, Tiffen makes Canon filters and Hoya and sometimes Tiffen many Nikon
filters.  If you need a multicoated filter, buy a Hoya SMC.  Remember, its
the same glass as some Leica lenses, so the only one your fooling is
yourself.  If people say they can see a difference using a Hoya SMC filter
and B+W, they are full of Baloney (I didn't want to be impolite and say
Sh-t.)!

The only evidence that Leica filters are multicoated are the pretty
rainbows that reflect off them in the light and the $######.## price
tags. Many B+W filters can be obtained (off the rack) multicoated just
as long as they are the UV. Otherwise you wait for months. I've had my
eye peeled for a yellow green and a red.
I assume you are saying that the Leica UV's (not that I care) are really
skylight's. No?
