I've a 19mm of this version and I rather like it.  It seems to handle 
flare well, although some negatives at wide open lead me to suspect 
some slight vignetting. It is, as you now doubt know, one heavy piece 
of equipment.

As for filters, their use on this lens is "not recommended by Leitz" 
(1987 Handbook of the Leica System).  An 82mm will fit the threads 
but the protuding front element will contact the filter glass as it's 
screwed in.
