Not with the Nikons, but with the Canons you're right:

Test CI 11/98

Car coming from the front at 100 KM/H
400 ISO
Lithium batteries for all the cameras
Gray weather, low contrast.

With the F5 + Nikkor AF f/4 - 300 mm ED (no AFS)
13 picts = 13 sharp (last picture sharp at 6 meter)
F90X + MB10 + Nikkor AF f/4 - 300 mm ED (no AFS)
7 = 7 (last picture sharp at 9 meter)
Canon EOS 1N + Booster + Canon EF f/4 - 300 mm L USM
9 = 7 (last picture sharp at 20 meter)
EOS 3 + Booster + Canon EF f/4 - 300 mm L USM
9 = 8 (last picture sharp at 15 meter)

F5 + Nikkor AF-S f/2,8 - 300 mm ED
13 = 13 (last picture sharp at 6 meter)
F90X + MB10  + Nikkor AF-S f/2,8 - 300 mm ED
7 = 7 (last picture sharp at 9 meter)
EOS 1N + Booster + Canon EF f/2,8 - 300 mm L USM
10 = 8 (last picture sharp at 17 meter)
EOS 3 + Booster + Canon EF f/2,8 - 300 mm L USM
11 = 10 (last picture sharp at 13 meter)

CI will make the same comparison between the F100 and the EOS 3
in the future.
(both production models, because in this test the EOS 3
was a pre-production model)
