Subject: [Leica] Empty rolls and Ken's Noctilust

Some weeks ago I complained that I screwed up during a wedding shot and two
rolls ended up being empty. I did not send the M6 for repair but followed
Ted's advice in folding the films and take a little bit more time making
sure things are in order. I haven't had any problems since. Thanks for all
the e-mails!

A week ago I had to use a flash at a wedding because the Noctilux and
Tmax400 pushed to 800 was just not enough. Saturday I was able to use the
Noctilux and Tmax400 without a flash. In the evening Katariina developed
the films and after she made the first prints she said that there is magic
in those un-flashed pictures and I should never use flash again. Because
the wedding was at 10:30AM we had a lot of window lights at the reception
which added to the magic. Ken, I never regret that I bought the Noctilux
years ago and you won't either. Be aware, it requires practice, practice,
and more practice to shot wide open, although I occasionally step down to
2.0 or 2.8 if I need more DOF.

Best Regards Jörg
