Cosina is an interesting company and the only independent that actually
makes its own glass.  They also make low end cameras for Nikon, Olympus, and
others.  
LUGs may be surprised to know that there are not a lot of camera/lens
companies that make their own glass.  I have been doing research on the
Japanese optical industry wiht he hope of completing a book for publication,
just not sure if the book would sell.
