Andrew,

I recently acquired (for free, no less) a screw-in self-timer which
works just fine on the M6. The plunger is adjustable, so you can set it
to protrude just far enough to trip the shutter but not so far as to
damage the camera. I have no idea of the brand, as the only
identification on the device is "Made in Japan". I suspect that any of
the models from Hama etc. will work just fine.
