I've used other "soft" release buttons over the years (favorite was 
the one for the Canon MF drive, but Tom's look beautiful on the camera)

Every time I took them off for the same reason.....those 'blank' frames 
on the roll........just the nature of the beast...of course on the 
M6 I assume it would also contribute to short battery life....don't 
know but it makes sense.
