The Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography on the campus of the University of
La Verne is honored to announce an exhibition of photographs by Tina Manley.
Titled "Las Familias: Families of Rural Central America," the show at once
raises our awareness and reflects Ms. Manley's profound sense of the
"...strength of the family in the face of extreme poverty." The show of 30
sepia-toned silver gelatin prints will be in the Carlson Gallery from February
8 through March 19, 1999.

A lecture by Ms. Manley will be hosted by the Gallery in Founders Auditorium,
Founders Hall, on Thursday, March 4, at 6:00 p.m. A reception for the
photographer will immediately follow the lecture. Admission to the lecture and
the Gallery is free. Gallery hours are 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday. Extra Gallery hours can be arranged for guests from out of the
area.

The University of La Verne is located about 30 miles east of Los Angeles, near
the eastern end of the 210 Freeway. For more information, please call Kevin
Holland, at (909) 593-3511, Extension 4285. Alternatively, you can send email
