Any Leica (R8, M6, M3, Leicaflex etc..) with a TTL or automatic flash will be able to command the SU-4 + a TTL Flash Nikon** (**SB-28,27,26,25,24,23,22S,22,20,18,16B and 15) or compatible (Metz, Sunpack, Sigma,Vivitar etc.). Better: if you still have a SCA 300 compatible Flash (from your R5, R6 or R7) that you cannot use anymore because you have a R8, buy for it the SCA300 for Nikon and a SU-4 and you will have a flash slave totally automatic for much less than a second Metz MZ-3 + SCA3000.
