Nikon has always tried to go it alone, often to their detriment. They have
always been one of the more arrogant companies to deal with, and certainly
the most arrogant Japanese company to deal with.

Note Nikon has just gone its own way with making digital cameras, instead
of relying on a partner like Canon does with Kodak. And Nikon fianally has
come up with a way to do it without breaking the bank. Color me (or
grayscale me?) surprised!
