There are less numbers on a 39 than a 46. So the actual numbers do not
match. But you can use the relative position within the numeric imprint. I
did this before I got a second filter for 39, 46, & 55. It works OK. You
just have to be aware of what you are doing, and it's difficult if you are
reading a 39 and trying to set a 46 which is under a lens hood. That's why
I doubled-up on the filters. The whole set is still less than the Leica
flip-up behemoth.
